For getting the perfect shot, the photographer needs the best gears which include a good camera, a good flash and most importantly different sized lenses. For a new photographer, using a decent digital SLR camera can do the work but for a professional it has to be the best. Wedding photographs are mostly enlarged and framed, so they need to have good quality. Many people do make photos to canvas prints too and due to these reasons photographers need to have high resolution, and high quality cameras.

Camera

Good Camera is essential for wedding photography and photographer needs to have the best full frame digital SLR for that. So far, professionals prefer Canon and Nikon over others available in the market. Wide angle capability and high quality image in low light is what is needed by the photographer. Two camera series provide this better than others. One is Canon EOS and Nikon D series cameras which are preferred by many professional and past releases of these cameras can be used by new photographers. Cameras are most expensive in all the gears a photographer needs so he needs to have done proper search before buying a camera for wedding photography.

Lenses

Lenses are very important for wedding photographs and photographer needs to have different lenses with large maximum aperture of f/2.8. Lights are the main issue at the wedding because lights are not installed according to the photographers needs and lighting can be in any way. Some of the preferable lenses for a wedding include a wide-angle zoom and image stabilized telephoto zoom. Few of the brands which have the best result for this occasion include Canon and Nikon. Full frame body and small sensor body lenses from both these brands are preferred by many professionals. Few suggestions are canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM full-frame body and Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S for wide angle zoom. For image stabilized telephoto zoom  Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and Nikon full-frame body Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR are preferred.

Flash and Accessories

Flashes are important in a wedding environment because lights in the hall are not same every time and photographer needs to have flashes and accessories for all scenarios. Proffered flashes and accessories include 2-3 500-800 w/s moonlight heads, 2-3 "Speedlight" on-camera TTL flashes, light stands for each flash, umbrellas for flashes, flash triggering device and hand held flash meter. Some preferred products in these accessories are Bowens Esprit Gemini Kit for 500-800 w/s Moonlight Heads, Canon Speedlight 580EX II Flash for On-camera TTL Flashes, >Bogen/Manfrotto 9ft Basic Light stand for Light Stands, and >Westcott Photo Basics 45 for Umbrellas/Soft boxes. The great collection of high quality images through canvas prints online and photo vanvases.

There are few other things that are important for the wedding photographer which include battery backup of a long time for which he needs few extra batteries. Tripods and different stands are also needed. These gears are very important for a photographer so he needs to choose best. After all the pictures are taken photographer needs to check, edit and print the pictures to give it to the customers. A photo gift can complement the good work done by a wedding photographer.
